Happy 9/16!! Today is the pillows’ 22nd anniversary. Let’s wish them many more years of making awesome music.
Now that the tour excitement is over, let’s catch up on some new release news!
Next month on the 12th, a new solo album, Tedious Man, from lead singer Sawao Yamanaka drops. There will be a regular edition and a limited edition with a bonus DVD featuring two music videos. Guest artists include Kosaku Abe of The Collectors, Akiko Fukuoka of Chatmonchy and the original bassist himself, Tatsuya Kashima.
A new tour DVD will also be released on the same date, Born Again, featuring the pillows live at Zepp Tokyo from 4/24/2011 on their Horn Again tour.
Finally, a collaborative album called Time Machine was just released this month, featuring an instrumental rock track from our favorite guitarist, Yoshiaki Manabe.

Loading ...Tickets for the pillows’ performance at Speakeasy in Austin, Texas on 9/13 can now be purchased online! Get ‘em while they’re hot!
The tour officially has a name and an official site! Check it out! Opening for the pillows will be fellow Japanese band noodles, and San Francisco band All Ages. Also one more show was added for Austin on 9/13, but no ticket purchase info is available yet (?!!?). Check out the Live section for all the details!
Updated the Live section with all the latest tour info. Additional dates have been confirmed for Los Angeles and New York! Woot! No official announcement or official tour name yet, so here’s hoping for more dates.

Slim’s in San Francisco will be hosting the pillows on Wednesday, September 7th! Tickets go on sale this Sunday, the 24th, for $23.
